Pagid vs Akebono Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 4 Jan 2017 14:15:00 In Reply to: Re: Front Brake Pad choice?, SWEDECAR [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 4 Jan 2017 10:17:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have the SAAB branded Pagid/Textar pads on all four corners of my 9-5 and they are great. No dust and lots of stopping power, so I would have no issue with them on our 9-3SC either.
I noticed that eEuro sells two different SAAB branded front pads for the 9-3, with details for both identifying them as the replacements for the same two factory brake options. Could one of them be the older Akebono and the other the newer Pagid material?
P/N's are: 9990004 and 93188111
EDIT: OK, I visited the web sites of many Saab Parts Suppliers and it 'appears' the 9990004 pads are only for the Aero models with larger than 16-inch wheels. For some reason none of the sites are explicitly clear on this. They use the nomenclature of "16+ wheels" which could be interpreted as fitting 16-inch and larger wheels rather than "only larger than 16 inch wheels". Where 15-inch wheels fitted in any markets on the 9-3SS family of cars?
