fuel gauge issue -- not the sending unit Posted by jackosaab [Email] (#2004) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jackosaab) on Wed, 18 Jan 2017 07:29:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I need some help troubleshooting: Saab, 2009, 9-3 Sportcombi, Aero, V6 XWD. I recently bought this car used with 66k miles. When I bought it, the fuel gauge was not reading correctly, it stayed at 1/2, and would drop to 1/4 only at the very bottom of the tank, and it would read completely empty when the car was off. I had my mechanic change the fuel pump assembly. Now the gauge reads 100% all the time, and when the car is off it reads 1/2. He checked with the Tech 2 and the Tech 2 is registering the correct fuel level, he topped off the tank, and the Tech 2 responded correctly.
What could be going on? Need to replace the gauge cluster? Possible to replace just the fuel/temp/boost gauges?
