How about the stepper motors that drive the gauge needles?
Right now I'm tolerating that with my speedometer. If I disconnect the battery, the needle jumps up 10 or 20 mph higher, & keeps reading that amount high as I drive.
I opened the cluster & pushed the needle back to zero with the battery connected. Then put it back together without disconnecting the wiring from the cluster. PITA... but it works until next time I disconnect the battery.
