I went 210,000 miles (340,000kms) on my 03 coils. I've owned the car since new. I wouldn't change them until the car starts throwing codes. I changed plugs ever 60,000 miles. I'm up in Canada with harsh winters, and they took quite a while to go. When you change them, you MUST go OEM coils and OEM plugs. My mechanic tried three different aftermarket coils and they were all garbage. Other thing is that the ionization module also expires. I did everything at the same time. The car runs like a champ, my mechanic is amazed.

Ignition system is very sophisticated and precise on these cars, using ions in the combustion chamber to detect ignition and fuel requirements.
