Locking fuel filler flap repair Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Sat, 20 May 2017 07:59:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I signed up with a service that comes by at night and fills your car with gas for you. I have a 2010 9/3 convertible, which has a locking fuel filler flap. So the only way to enable this activity without leaving the car unlocked overnight is to open the gas flap, and lock the car manually using the key (so the alarm won't go off), which causes the locking fuel filler flap pin to protrude. Now that the pin is protruding, you can't close the fuel filler flap completely. Except that that's what the fuel filling guy tried to do after he filled the car with gas. This apparently snapped the locking pin, though I can't find it on the ground next to the car. When he forced the fuel filler cap shut with the locking pin engaged, what exactly did he break? What do I need to replace? The entire solenoid? Does the solenoid come with the pin? (I would really rather repair this than get a locking gas cap, because I don't want to have to carry another key around with me.) Thanks!
