Hi Saabers, my name is Steve and I've just purchased a low-mileage 2009 9-3 Aero convertible, white with tan top. Background: I've owned three other Saabs: '71 99 sedan, '74 99 combi (loved that car but kept it way too long), and a '85 base 900 combi (the only one bought new). I've been away from Saabs since 1994 (when I totaled the 900). Just coming off of a 2006 Miata which I loved and which gave my wife and me many many miles of fun. But it was time for a change. We love the 9-3, it's such a smooth and powerful cruiser. Just a few questions/comments: A few times when opening the trunk, the alarm went off. I figured out that it happened when I failed to unlock the doors (thus disarming the alarm first). That seems to be a little sensitive and inconvenient. Is that you folks' experience? I've only had the top down once so far, in 47 degree weather. Seemed pretty windy compared to the Miata. I realize that there are vast differences between the aerodynamics of the two cars. What are your experiences with the convertibles? Mine came with the windscreen things folded up in the trunk. What a contraption! Haven't tried it yet. Experiences with those? Thanks for looking. Cheers, Steve
