Thanks for the helpful comments, folks. Upon further reading deeper into this forum, I see that the alarm is actually set up to work this way; you must first disarm it by unlocking a door. Not too bad once you know. I also see in the Manual that you can program it for Full Alarm or Door Only in the Settings function of the SID. Not sure why you wouldn't leave it on Full Alarm. I'm encouraged that people say the wind screen works well. I'm looking forward to slightly warmer weather here in the Mid-Atlantic to try it out! A few other comments: Since I bought the car in PA(no front tag) and live in MD (front tag required), I had to get a front tag (license plate) bracket. My local mechanic has been trying to get one thru the nearest Saab official service center and it's been taking forever. So yesterday I ordered one from eEuroparts.com. I'm happy with their service, it's to be delivered today as I opted to spend $1 more on FedEx shipping. Helps that they are in PA, a one-day drive from here. Also, in doing more reading here and in Wikipedia, I'm really happy that I decided to go after a car with the V6 turbo. I love the performance (quite different from my previous Saabs!) but have to get used to the fact that it isn't the gas-sipper that my wife's Prius is. I'm sure that this engine has it's critics, but I'm hoping that it is dependable for us. Steve
