The V6 Aero running so hot and at higher pressure in the cooling system will weep coolant wherever it gets a chance.
Just the lower O-ring on expansion tank cap can allow coolant to be pushed out through the over flow pipe leaving no traces of the event.
Cap should be replaced on a regular basis due to that it gets fried by the turbo heat.
There are multiple Viton O-rings around thermostat and pipe at right motor mount that can weep when they get old.
The ones at thermostat and thermostat itself it a complete nightmare to replace. The one at right motor mount is easy.
It's a float inside coolant tank that alters the flow of current sent through the sensor element.
