Me as a new member:
UPDATE - Revisited the rear passenger brake on this 2006 9-3.
Did one sharp tap with a small hammer to start, then used my extractor tool with pressure and a small crowbar in the back of the caliper to immobilize while I turned and got it turned all the way back in!
My problem seemed to be I wasn't putting enough pressure on the piston while turning and being unable to hold the caliper assembley still while trying to turn it.
Put on a new retainer spring, and put Loctite Blue on the caliper bolts from bottom up about 3/8" and replaced these bolts.
Happy to say all is complete on the back brakes.
