I can't add much based on mileage driven or years owned since I've only owned my '09 Aero convertible for 8 month. Had 36K when I bought it, now 43K, so a somewhat rare low-mileage example. Mine has the 2.8 V-6. Heat under the hood is an issue with these and one vulnerable part is the coolant expansion tank. I had mine replaced ($250 part/labor) with the stock plastic one to get rid of false "Low Coolant" warnings on the SID. From reading, original hoses, plastic parts and electronic parts under the hood can be heat affected and should be watched. My opinion is also that this car has too many electronics and features for its own good. I've never even had a car with a low coolant light. The anti-pinch feature of the automatic windows is a popular one to act up. I've got one acting up now. Fix may be simple, but it's irritating. Other than the above repair cost, I've put an additional $500 into routine maintenance at 40K, by a trusted Saab OSC. Not complaining, but just recognize that the car has to be maintained in order to be reliable. Don't me wrong, I love this car. Love driving it, looking at it and getting compliments on it. It's a great and effortless highway cruiser. To address a point in Dave's posting above, my '09 Aero has both Bluetooth and satellite radio (I use both). The BT is limited to taking and making calls through my cell, I don't think it will control music from the iPhone. However, you can plug a phone in through the aux port and play music. Also, the voice recognition if so bad that i have not seriously tried to program phone numbers into it. This is 10+ year old GM technology (or is it Saab?), I just tell myself that. I hope this information helps and good luck to you and you Mom on the decision. Steve
