Hello- 2003 Saab 9-3 Arc with 37,000 miles, original owner. This was my daily driver but as you can see from the miles I don't have much need for a daily driver any longer. I was running it in the driveway a few weeks back just to keep a charge in the battery, and instead of opening the driver's side front window I decided to open the passenger side front window. Granted, over the life of the car the driver's side front window has been used 99% of the time, and all other windows 1% of the time. I heard the dreaded plastic crunching sound and the window went down on an angle in a few sudden movements. I was able to raise it by hand and the weatherstrips held it in place. We have had a terrible rainy summer in the northeast and it has not leaked. I have read of this being a common issue and just want to confirm a few items here if possible. Would you say that these are the parts I need for this repair:

I have looked at them from several different manufacturers, and most people say they are all the same and wish that a better quality part was made. Also, the door panels were only removed by the dealer right before the original warranty expired, to add the various rattle fixes which these doors required especially on the 2003 models. Honestly this car was pretty good as far as rattles go but I had it done anyway. The door panels are still in mint condition and I don't want to damage the passenger side front door panel while removing it. Any suggestions for the correct tool to use, as well as the location of any hidden fasteners for the door pull, etc. I know there are even youtube videos out there and perhaps someone has a favorite that covers the door panel removal and the power window fix.
Great to see posting activity on this board. Way back I was a fan of Pontiac musclecars and then Saab. Seems like I am picking winners as far as companies not remaining in business! lol I bought this car new on my 40th birthday, which was almost 15 years ago and I intend on holding on to it. These cars are a blast to drive with the BSR PPC and a 6 speed manual.
