I'm not much help with your actual problem, but I was going to say when my battery has gotten really low on charge, as in it won't even turn over the engine (maybe clicks or sometimes not even clicks), I have seen some of the other wacky stuff you are describing. But your battery does have enough juice to turn over the engine. I don't get to drive my '03 9-3 Arc very often, and after around five years with the same battery it would dip too low and only start the car after I jumped the battery. The battery held a charge a better after I connected it to a battery tender in my garage (took forever), but I knew I had to replace the battery due to age and not driving the car enough, and did so around a month ago. Again, this doesn't sound tied in to your issue, but I know these cars like a properly functioning and fully charged battery. And the car can seem fine one day and the next day no start and the dash looks like fireworks going off, you hear the computer modules in the doors humming on and off, etc. heh
