TPMS sensors failure Posted by magalar [Email] (#1325) [Profile/Gallery] (more from magalar) on Fri, 16 Nov 2018 16:30:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi everyone,
The original wheels with the original (built date: 06/2008) TPMS sensors are back on the car for winter duty, and I just got the TPMS failure message.
3 questions:
- Is this the message I would get if one or many sensors are dead from a depleted battery?
- Is it possible to install new sensors myself, or do I absolutly need to go back to a shop to have the tire dismounted completely? These were installed last week, new ContiIceContact for city duty.
-Finally, if I am able to do the job here, will the new sersors (Schrader 20159) be recognized by the car without needing programmation or "marrying" to the car?
By the way, the system was fine for two days after I installed the new tires on the car monday. But the "failure" message popped yesterday, and it won't disappear now.
Thanks in advance,
magalar
