Buying a used SportCombi

Wrecked my 2006 2.0T SportCombi last March and bought a 2008 Volvo s60 with a little less than 60k miles. My wife is going to be joining me in the USA and it is time to buy another car. As I loved my SportCombi (3rd and best SAAB I have owned) I am looking to purchase another. Trying to keep the price tag under $7,000. Also looking at BMW 328i or xi wagons or Volvo V70 or XC70 wagons. Anyways I have come across an 2006 AERO SportCombi with 192k in my area for under $3,000. If I bought it would I be looking for trouble or will it go for another 60k or so with minimal problems, until a Volvo V60 is in my price range? I also found a 2010 2.0T front-wheel drive with 97k for just under 8k. What are your thoughts? I also found a desirable deal on a BMW wagon but the RWD has me thinking to look elsewhere. Should I just bite the bullet and buy the 2010? What do I need to know about the AERO and high mileage or the 2010 model year so I can be prepared to make a decision. Any and all input appreciated. Also any other wagon models I should consider? Audi, Infinity, Acura? Have had bad experiences with Subaru so will be avoiding Subaru like the plague. How do they stack against the SportCombi?
