Everything I’ve read on this board over several years indicates that the Aero models have been problematic. That being said, someone got almost 200K out of one so you can look at it two ways: either that one was a gem or everything on it is going to break in the next 100K miles. I’d go with something else.
Can’t think of a BMW I’d buy with high mileage. The money pit potential is extreme. BMWs are cars you lease, not buy, etc. Ditto for Audi.
I’d go for the 2010 2.0T with 97K on it. We have a 2010 9-3 SS 2.0T with a 6-spd manual and, beyond a failed slave cylinder, has been very reliable and a great car to drive even with 165K miles on the clock.
Another option: a 9-5 wagon. There are several on the classifieds herein including one near Boston with 72K miles on it.
