Mine replaced in two 2001's since the recall. Last one in 2008. I called SAAB to see if they would pay for it; got someone who tried to work it out (he was exceedingly nice, by the way), but I gave up after a couple of weeks and didn't pursue it further. Which is not to say they wouldn't have done it; I just got too busy to pursue it . The good news is that on the 4 cyl, I got two check engine lights and the indie found a couple of fried points, so I got some warning before it shut down. A little hesitation on starting was the only warning in the 6 cylinder; pretty non-specific.
