Heater AC Ventilation Blower fan problems : 2005 9-5 Posted by scott47 [Email] (#119) [Profile/Gallery] (more from scott47) on Fri, 22 Jul 2011 08:32:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The ventilation blower fan in my 9-5 will intermittently stop working. This happens when it's warm outside, cold outside or anywhere in between. It happens when the fan is set to the lowest speed, the highest speed or anywhere in between.
Normally the fan is working perfectly and then just stops. After a few minutes (5-10 I'd guess) the fan will start back up and act like nothing happened. I've pulled the fault codes when the fan is working correctly and also when it isn't working and so far no codes have been returned.
I thought it might be the brushes in the fan motor so I replaced them last fall. That didn't really seem to make any difference so I thought I might have done it wrong. About a month ago I replaced the entire fan motor with a brand new Saab fan. This also didn't make any difference and the problem seems to be worse now than ever before.
I don't know if this might be the fan speed controller? I'm really hoping for help with this since I've already spent a bit of money and the problem hasn't changed at all.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
Scott
