Kia Optima...very funny, no comparison to the saab 4 cyl. From ease of DIY to engine perfomance potential the 9-5 4-cyl rocks.

Anyway, Hal...I used to own a 2002 saab 9-5 aero till last year...great car. I replaced it with a 2007 9-5, even better. Has the king cobra intake and no sludge issues. I did upgrades etc. and is 300HP now, is a blast!

I consider another car as a good replacement just FYI. The 2006 and up 9-3 Aero with the 2.8 turbo, not the 2.0T. Also has a 6-spd. I dont know if the 2.8V6 is as reliable as the 9-5 4 cyl (nor do i know if it has a timing chain), but its performance potential is massive. Simply with a software tune, the engine (stock 250HP) gets about 320HP and massive torque. Also weighs some 3300lbs. A tuned 2.8V6 can do quarter mi less than 14s.
