SUCCESS! Got it to work with just a small enlargement using the reamer. I would do it in a heartbeat again because you can always order a new aluminum arm for $25 if you go too far. In contrast, I just found someone's webpage where they said they removed the tabs on the blend door shaft to help in mounting the aluminum stop arm. Doesn't seem wise to me.
