I just use a thin jeweler's screwdriver or tiny allen key. all you are doing is pushing a plastic tab inside the hole. once it is pushed in enough, the back "springs off"... though that might require some gentle prodding with a fingernail or screwdriver etc.

I've done about 7 different keys like this and never had a problem.
