Just replaced A/C compressor and receiver. System holds vacuum. Installed roughly 30 oz R134a and 3 oz PAG oil. A/C recalibration shows no codes. Not cooling yet...investingating what's going on. When cycling the ECON setting the engine rpms definitively react. When turning ECON off (and hopefully the compressor on) the rpms briefly bump up slightly, then settle. I can't hear any compressor clutch click, even with a stethoscope. Either it's *really* smooth and quiet, or not engaging.
My question: Will this happen even if the compressor did not engage?
