I think it's just a surface rust. No, it's not bent as far as I can see. I'm conviced that poly is the way to go on those bushings, but for now I'm going with used route. For the price of one, I got a whole rear 90K suspesnsion- subframe, trailing arms, shocks/springs etc. All parts are in a lot better shape that mine. But once I'll be ready to buy another 9-5 to replace my 9000 Aero I will go with poly.
