Control arm bushing install questions

I got stuck with my bushing replacement job. What is the proper way to remove the rear bushing? I couldn't get it off with a gear puller as that just dug into the spindle. A air chisel vibrated one off, but that can't the be correct procedure?
How do I get the front bushing back in (Febi brand)? Freezing it and soapy water didn't help. Even my non-Saab indy couldn't get it in despite various lubricants and tricks. He thought it needs a conical tool as that shows in Alldata for this car. I think I'm going to return the OEM bushings and go with poly just to avoid this? Are the Powerflex the way to go versus Pro Parts?
Any tips to get the rubber out of the OEM rear bushings?
Is it me or is getting the +90 degrees on the torque settings tough? I couldn't get much beyond 30-45 degrees. It was cold and that much torque even if I could muscle it feels like it might push the car off the stands.
