It's a trial and error measurement.
I unscrew the push tube and leave the nut exactly in place and measure from the nut to the mounting flange of booster using a straight edge balancing on the nut horizontally and a caliper.
Since the push rod wiggles back and forth, you have to take several readings and try to keep the push rod vertical as good as possible and then split the difference to come up with an acceptable number.
