Honestly, I would start with cleaning the nipple (easier with a warm engine) and replacing the hoses and check valve to the throttle body. Make sure the flow is from PCV nipple TO the TB, not the other way. Replacing the orang in the filler cap is a good idea too; mine has a small split and made quite a mess of the left side of the engine.. you'll be amazed what those simple fixes can do for a starting point.
Cleaning the nipple out and replacing those few components aren't too hard if the engine is warm (rubber flexes easier) and shouldn't take long even if it's cold out.
