I have been getting an intermittent P0455 code on my 2008 9-5 2.3t SportCombi the last week. I know it can be from a loose gas cap or perhaps vacuum lines or the EVAP purge valve, so I first tried making sure the gas cap was well seated. The code was still intermittent, but the gas cap did not seem damaged or loose (at least compared to a month ago).
Here in NC the temps have been fluctuating a lot day to day and the P0455 seemed to occur more frequently when I was on the last 1/4 tank of 93 octane gas before I filled up recently. Since filling up, I have not got the code in two days.
Would it happening more frequently on the last 1/4 tank tend to point more to the gas cap being the cause? I ordered a new cap and EVAP purge valve from eEuro just to have on hand for future use so I can always swap parts out. Just wanting to learn more about diagnosing this particular code.
