I have found the wine red is quite unstable; either the old color or the newer one introduced in 2006. I'm in the Deep South and the intensity of the heat and the UV just make this red super vulnerable. I've shopped for 9-5s a lot the past 3 years and just none with close to great paint.
We have an Imola Red '01 Aero from Florida and it seems the paint wasn't applied that well. Adhesion issues - I'm planning to repaint it when I get time, but so long as big scabs of clearcoat keep forming I cannot.
Had good luck with an Indian Red '85 900T and an Imola Red '94 900 SE but now the paints are water based and these colors just can't hang in there IMO.
