fuel pump check valve - my options? Posted by mlc [Email] (#1747) [Profile/Gallery] (more from mlc) on Tue, 23 May 2017 06:08:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
ok.. so i'm pretty sure i need to replace the white check valve at the fuel pump, based on the hard starting when the car sits 8 hrs or more..I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator, and tried techron, etc.. but still have the problem..
Reading up on this, it sounds like a real pain to change without the proper tool to press it onto the existing fuel line, which is my best option?
1) change myself? do i simply cut off the old valve and splice a piece of 5/16 fuel line over the valve? how would i connect the new piece of line to the existing line? does it simply slide over and i clamp it?
2) have my indie replace it? I imagine it would be an hour labor more or less?
3) replace the fuel line with valve attached. Europarts sells fuel line with new valve already pressed on for $108. Can I simply snake that one in, under the car, or do i need to drop the gas tank partly, etc. to get it in?
Appreciate any input...
