If you haven't started yet, I may be of some help. I am about to do almost the same job. Some of the bushings in my '01 base 2.3t are shot and clicking. It happens that I have an old subframe from a '99, whose engine I blew and acquired all tools for an engine removal and rebuild. Once out, I learned the crankshaft was bent and the block was damaged. I bought the '01, originally for the engine, but fell in love with the Harman Kardon. The '99 is my parts car. The '99 subframe is now on sawhorses. In removing the '99 engine, I built a support frame out of 2x4s per a design from another site. The '99 only had 47K on the odo so I am not changing bushings, just changing subframes, mainly because I have not seen enough clarity on removing and installing bushings. Let me know if my pix and more details will be of help.
