Tried them. Criss-crossed from one side of the support bracket to the other, top to bottom. When tightened, one or both must put pressure on the cable so that it still doesn't shift correctly. Believe me, I'm the first to try duct tape, zip ties and jbweld. Besides gas, my cars run on that stuff.
