SPACERS ARE A PROPER FIX Posted by saabsince 93b [Email] (#972) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabsince 93b) on Sat, 8 Jul 2017 08:27:08 In Reply to: Re: Widest Tires sounds as if one should fix the suspention ?, neil dale [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 8 Jul 2017 08:00:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Neil, I completely disagree with you. Spacers ARE a proper fix. If the new springs would not sag you would not need spacers. But they will sag, so it is better to use the existing springs and adjust the system for proper ride height.
Spacers and adjustable spring perches are used to set up race cars around the world. Even the FORD LeMans car uses them. This is normal race car practice for coil springs.
These are not rubber spring stuffing we are talking about but proper professionally machined aluminum spacers that raise the ride height so the suspension can be adjusted properly.
I have them on our 4 9-5 Aeros and a few more Saab 9-5 AND IT IS A PROPER AND PROFESSIONAL FIX.
