So maybe 8 - 10 years ago I replaced the CPS as it left me stranded. The one I installed then was a Bosch. A few years ago, I bought a box of miscellaneous SAAB V6 parts for $20. In that was a new p/n 9686 CPS. I installed it yesterday and I'd forgotten what a terrible job it was. Would be OK if one did it regularly and learned the tricks. Got it done and drove the car 90 miles today with lots of stops/starts. Touring Wineries. Anyway, the car ran great. No misses. Got home and sawed the end off of the old CPS and guess what? It was full of motor oil. Also the magnetic pickup was covered with fine metal filings which seems odd. Anyway, turned over 141K miles on the 2002. Hoping it will keep running since Wife is using as her town/errand car. Thanks!
