I received the world's last Black & Parchment seat back today Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 20 Jul 2017 18:30:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
P/N: 12761198
I ordered this PN earlier and received a Black-on-Black sport seat back. The seat had the correct PN on the tag which was sewn into a seam of the seat back, but it was the wrong color combination.
Working with a local auto upholsterer I found a perfect match for the Parchment colored pebbled vinyl used on these seats, so I re-ordered the seat back. I expected to receive another Black-on-Black seat which the upholsterer was planning to modify by replacing the Black vinyl inserts with Parchment colored inserts using the remnant material we found in his shop.
Imagine my surprise when I opened the package today, turned the seat back right side-out, and saw it was the correct Black-Parchment combination! Searching globally for this part number showed only 2 in the world, both in the US, apparently both had been shipped to my home within the past month but only one was correct. Even the Orio photo for this PN showed a Black-on-Black Sport seat cover while the description was Black/Beige.
I will be going to a Pick-n-Pull yard tomorrow where an '06 Aero was recently received with these same Black/Parchment Sport Seats. I need a seat cushion too and am hoping the front passenger side seat cushion foam and skin/cover will be in far better condition than my worn and split driver's seat. Most damage done by the initial owner during the first 33K miles of use.
Below is the photo displayed on many parts sites. Apparently this seat cover was shipped right side out, rather than inside-out, so it was the part chosen to be photographed. Unfortunately it had the wrong PN tag sewn into a seam and is actually some other part. The lozenge shaped panels between the bolsters and back piece should be Parchment colored for this P/N.
