i went to google and i found the wikipedia saab report and makes for good reading .also found others ..but nothing on this....BUT there used to be specially in the UK sites but no longer.. they also identified the cars that had similar problems ......go to FIXMYSAAB.COM and check out suspension ... in 1989 the saab 9000 (NOT THE 9.5 ) was a joint venture with fiat and the following cars were made using the same architecture saab 9000 , alfa 164 ... fiat chroma .....and lancia thema .... when the 2000 saab came into being (i have all the literature including SAAB published books on the minutia of the development of this car and it is impressive the thought that went into it and the people assigned to each section ( but remember that this was a tiny company and therefore not really a development by committee ), and as you read you start to fall in love with this car .....unfortunately the lowering of the car brought about the camber problems resulting in the cupping of the tires . when GM bought the company and used the same architecture for their uk models the problems of the rear suspension surfaced there ......and were widely reported ...this is how i learned about this .......also ,when i added weight to the rear ,in the trunk or when i used a trailer to carry my motorcycles the problem intensified and i went thru many set of tires in under 7,000 miles.....i got rid of the trailer hitch ( in itself very heavy ) ,the dealer back then added the shims , and soon and lately all seems to be ok ,,,hopefully ..... ( i use this car only 4 or 5 times per year when i am in Connecticut )....
