Quite possible on the drainage holes although no recently applied inhibitor was present when I first saw the presence of rust when I purchased the car less than 2 years ago. This spring, I was spraying corrosion inhibitor inside both sides and it never drained out which I found very odd (aka scary). I didn't have time to follow up since dusk was approaching and I wanted to get the summer (aka all-season) tyres on. The often worse front sub-frame was in pretty good shape in comparison which was also odd. I will probably take the rear tyres off during the dog leg days of summer and do some more head scratching. I am reading more about how the new road brine technology is doing more damage to underbodies than the old rock salt tech. This could put us back into the 1970's as far as corrosion resistant goes. We will see. Checking on auto trader and kijiji last night, there was not a single 1980's 900 hardtop for sale in Canada, just a few convertibles including a spectacular low km example at CA$25K. RIP - Rest in Pieces.
