2005 9-5 wagon.
Follow the instructions in Fixmysaab (see link), but also it helps to look at his subwoofer replacement page as it shows the D pillar trim removal better.
One thing not mentioned are the 2 tabs in the middle near the rear seats holding up the headliner. Spin them 90 degrees and they pop right out.
I replaced with Febi shocks. They have the same clip system as on the hood struts, so it is much easier - you don't need to deal with installing that stupid pin. The Febis just click on (removal - use a screwdriver to pry up the C clip). You will need to prop up the hatch as high as physically possible to get them to go on, but if you do, you can snap them on by hand - no tools required.
Only took about an hour to do. Easy and worthwhile! Beats driving around with half a 2x4 in the trunk :-P. Just don't do this in winter unless you want to snap fragile plastic parts... mine broke then, but I wisely waited until summer to do the repair.
