oil where it shouldn't be! Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Tue, 31 Jul 2018 07:51:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm midway through some significant work to better sort out a 9-5 we bought last fall that is less than perfect... at the moment I have the cooling system apart and noticed oil film in the turbo bypass valve and deposits on the metal bypass pipe. Then I noticed the oil leakage onto the intercooler hose... see photo... any opinions on how urgent this should be?
I have not noticed any signs of turbo failure or anything. The car drives well and gets good fuel economy still. I had previously done the glove test for blow by, and it does inflate on this car whereas it does not on our other 9-5. Since then, I replaced all the vacuum lines (one of them had fallen off going into the TB)... but I have not redone the glove test.
Any thoughts? hoping to get this car back together asap so we can drive it, so this was not a great discovery!
