You need your solvent to be miscible with the ATF, and to not damage the hose. But since ATF is hydrocarbon (light oil) with additives, most compatible solvents should be okay with the hose. Avoid acetone and other more polar organic solvents because they don't mix with ATF very well.
Toluene, xylenes, kerosene, or diesel fuel should work to wash out the old ATF. Once the kerosene comes out clean, gently blow the hose dry. If you have sludge that is not dissolved or easily suspended in the ATF, you might need to do more, but this is likely adequate. I cannot guarantee this is the best procedure, but it's what I would do.
