Okay, following up further. I see the impact sockets with phosphate and black phosphate finishes are made of Chrome Molybdenum Alloy Steel. The ones with Black oxide finishes are Alloy Steel or Hot Forged Alloy Steel. And "Natural" is Nickel, Aluminum, Bronze thereby explaining the hefty price. So I guess a better question would be whether a phosphate finished impact socket made of Chrome Molybdenum Alloy Steel is good enough for occasional -- hopefully very occasional -- removal of lugs from a SAAB sedan with 17-inch performance wheels?
