ACHTUNG! If an automatic, replace the following part.
SAAB Brake Booster Vacuum Hose (Auto Trans) - Genuine SAAB 5331095
When the line broke at the check valve, I lost braking capability on my Dame Edna. I cheated death or injury only due to the forces of providence. The fact my brakes were cold and I was running ceramic pads did not help matters. As I played chess with the Grim Reaper, I swore off ceramic pads in favour of semi-metallic. The cars should be recalled but there have been few if any deaths or injuries traceable to this issue although an earlier recall when Saab was still in business addressed the same issue on some 9-3's of a certain year range. I was happy to see the new part is from Germany so I have some faith in it's longevity. They do get brittle with age and a careless brush from a carefree hand or unknowing mechanic or curator can crack the valve stem and create a ticking time bomb on any OG 9-5 IMHO.
