there are a bunch of write up on this site and elsewhere on this issue.. with some good illustrations.
Bottom line is .. there are stepping 3 stepping motors that control the flaps/vents used for drivers & passenger side.. as well as one that controls the mix of air between the cabin and outside.. 2 of them are on the passenger side.. under the dash.. and requires removal of the glove box..
Its usually one of 3 things.. the motor itself is bad, the plastic shaft to the flapper is broken, or the plastic linkage piece connecting the shaft to the motor is broken..
the programming new ACC message is usually only received when replacing the SID with a brand new unit.. and requires programming/marrying via a tech 2 unit.. Even if replacing with a used unit.. you shouldn't receive this message.. so not sure why you are.. Maybe try disconnecting the batter for 15 min or so... and see if that clears anything....
