Apparently available from Orio Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 9 Dec 2018 16:34:01 In Reply to: CBV delete when cold outside, steve, Sun, 9 Dec 2018 10:14:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
From an old posting, part number is 5463252 and Orio is supplying it to distributor and etailers
Actually, the MacKay hose set was intended only for non-US spec cars since all the US-spec cars had automatic temperature controls and the troublesome Coolant By-Pass Valve. The MacKay hose (P/N #CH3881) is still available from suppliers located in Australia where MacKay is located and the hose is manufactured, but total cost with shipping to the US will be ~$110 USD.
The Cadillac Catera used this same valve, so if you opt to reinstall a functional valve this winter you may have an easier time finding the identical valve listed for a Catera service part rather than the 9-5 service part.
If the car is a 2002 or new, then it has Dex-Cool and you should be able to just top up with fresh. If the car is a '99 through 2001 it might still have the old Saab Blue coolant. The new Mercedes coolant is the same formulation as the old Saab Blue (G-48), and is also Blue.
