It is much more common that the EVAP purge valve have good and bad days all depending on heat.
The way I test it is to use the Tech 2 and run a quick test of the EVAP system, if it pass with flying colors, it is most likely an EVAP purge valve that goes bad sometimes.
Hard to spot if it is not acting up when you are looking at it. Sometimes removing the valve and bench test it by applying voltage rapidly and use vacuum at the same time you can make it fail.
