Hex! It is torx. Perhaps that changed.
Perhaps the loctite reference was for the, or MEANT, for the large caliper carrier bolts that go to the hub?
Perhaps loctite would be perferable to nothing at all. These can get rusted in quite badly.
If this screw backed out while in service, there would be no effect. The wheel face would retain the screw in any case. Once the wheel bolts are in place, the screw no longer doing anything. Its only job seems to be to keep the rotor indexed to allow access to the threads in the hub for the five bolts, and to keep the large hole for P-brake adjustment indexed over the large hole in the hub. This indexing could be satisfied with a simple pin with no clamping to the rotor at all!
