The 97x is still an Ohio-built GM product. Though there is a distinctive Saab design to it, the drivetrain is Trailblazer platform with some mixing and matching of tranny and suspension components between standard and SS models. The Saab version has a more sporty ride (firm) and is AWD versus switchable 4x4. It is one of the sharper SUVs and I have looked at plenty. For all things considered including the towing capacity it is perhaps the best value out there in the used market.
