9-7x Engine and Navigation

Considering the 9-7x and I've read as much as I can about the engine choices but I'd like to get some input from the people that actually drive these every day. I won't be towing anything and won't take it offroad very ofter so will I notice a big difference between the v6 and v8 in day to day driving? Much better pick up, etc.

Also, I like the idea of the navigation system but would use it infrequently. Does it offer anything that I won't have in a standard GPS? Is it easy to use?
