90 900s auto na 130k, Over the last few months the check engine light has been coming on more frequently and now remains on almost all the time. When the light is on I can feel no decresase in performance. I have noticed valve clatter or pinging under light load both with the CE light lit and out.. When the head gasket (oil pump seal and crank pulley seal also) was replaced at 120K the indie mech. said no need to worry about setting the timing as the computer will do it..I replaced the knock sensor to no avail...I pulled the codes and get 12111 and 12241. I have checked all connections, hoses and replaced the grommets etc. and am quite certain I have no vacuum leaks. At 110K I replaced the O2 sensor and again at about 117K, when I test it now it seems in range but the voltage goes below .1 volt and then comes back into range, (I'm thinking my meter might not be sensitive enough). I used the generic Bosch sensor and soldered the splices, should I have crimped them? I have cleaned every ground I could get to three times since 110K. Could it be the AMM or is there a ground at the ECU I should look at? I believe the FPR is not leaking fuel. Idle is fine I cleand the AIC 4 times. I bought this car when it was beat to within a mile of it's life and used its resurection as a mechanical arts training tool for my son. Therefore, I want to keep it going (and its such a blast to drive on the 2 lane blacktop of Central Pa.!) The %@##$% CE light is driving me so crazy I am thinking of pulling the bulb, but thats admitting defeat and a cheap hack job. Previous advice on this board has been great, thanks for any help you can give me now.
