Your '84 tranny will be a T37 not a T35 so don't worry about that. T35 were only in the first two years of 900 production. (Basically interchangable anyway). The major difference is that the inner drivers are smaller on the older car (up until '86). The smart thing to do (unless it has already been done, and that is quite likely) is to use the inner drivers that are in the replacement unit and ensure that the axles have the appropriate tripod bearing on them. If your current inner drivers ('84 tranny) have three raised rings around them (count the ring at the edge too) then they are the older, (smaller) style and so are the tripod bearings, so get new tripod bearings. If only two raised rings then they are the newer (larger) style, and you should already have the appropriate tripod bearings, straight swap. Good luck.
