The inner steel sleeve of the slave cylinder is hardened. I tried cutting it with a sawzall with a Chinese blade, and the blade went dull as soon as it hit the steel. Even with a good sawzall blade. it took a good 15 minutes. If I really had a set of balls & a proper tool shed, I'd use a demolition saw, and cut through it in about 20 seconds.

Don't forget to remove the clutch shaft first.
