I would classify this more as air flow increase rather than overboost. I know Notnoel's setup from chatting with him -- the AMM reads the flow through the device and reports the estimate in voltage. There isn't a boost or overboost switch for the LH2.4, so it is shutting down from flow rather than overboost measurement. Now, one could argue that they are related, and that is true -- without higher boost you aren't going to get higher flow. Notnoel's engine is opened up so the engine is a more efficient air pump, thereby sending more air through the AMM and signaling the ECU to cut the fuel.
